It feels good to be back! :)
I'm officialy back at editing now. My study is (almost) done, so from now on I'll be able to invest more time in one of my greatest passions than I could in the last few years. And that is editing, especially ofc editing with One Piece. Even if I'm having more and more problems with Oda's storytelling, One Piece will always have a special place in my heart. After all it's the story that accompanies me for the longest time till now. Over 20 years, to be precise. When I started to edit back in 2008, it was all because of this very, very special show. And today, 12 years later, it's still the same reason. And as you may notice, I'm way more thrilled by the emotional side of it than by the action. The beginning of Wano (which holds btw. the greatest animation the anime ever had!) is a good example for it. Wano may be a big plotpoint within Oda's story, but what I really admired is the plot he dedicated to O-Tama. It's simple, it's grounded, it's unique, it's emotional. It had everything I enjoy the most about One Piece. And that is and always will my main course when it comes to edit with this show.
But enough of that. As I said, this is my official comeback at editing. I actually thought I would need more time to complete this #OnePieceAMV (which I planned to edit since the moment #Skillet released this version of #Anchor), but I was on fire the last couple of days. Literally. I just couldn't stop ... And I loved it! It showed me, how much I really missed this great passion of mine. And I can't say it often enough: I'm glad to be back. It feels just right.
About this project: It's very similar to my "Stars" AMV and imo it's very actual. We're living in difficult times and I believe, that in times like these we all need someone or something to hold on to. An anchor that keeps us steady. And that is exactly what Luffy is not only for his crew, but also for many more people he met on his way till now. That is what this AMV is all about. And I'm very happy about the way it turned out.
There's only one small deficit that bugs me: My computer just wasn't able to render it in 4K. The file was way to big, so I might buy myself something more capable as soon as I have enough money for it :)
Anyway, my next project(s) are already in the making. Right now I'm working on the scene selection, means I'm testing which scene fits which verse of the lyrics. One of them will be called "Coming Home" and the other one will be named "Learn To Walk Again". I don't know which one I will finish firstly, but both of them will come within the next few weeks / months. I'm very excited and I can't wait to show you what I have in store!
